Luis Moro's abilities were honored with two Independent Spirit Award nominations for co-Writing, Producing and Acting in the award winning film Anne B. Real. ABR is the story of a female rapper inspired by the diaries of Anne Frank. Luis was also nominated best actor by The American Black Film Festival for his co-starring role in the history making love story LOVE & SUICIDE, shot on location in Havana, Cuba.

In Anne B. Real he also co-wrote all the main Hip-Hop rap lyrics in the film performed by the lead character of Cynthia, the lyrics are also her diary entries through out the entire story. You can hear the songs written by Luis at ABR MUSIC.

After Anne B. Real, Luis produced three films demonstrating his diversity as an actor, writer and filmmaker.  (1) THE UNSEEN, a southern Drama. (2) LOVE & SUICIDE, an English and Spanish Romanic Love Story set in Havana Cuba. (3) VENUS & VEGAS, A buddy comedy set in Las Vegas.

Luis co-wrote and produced LOVE & SUICIDE starring Kamar de los Reyes and Daisy McCrackin.  Love and Suicide's theatrical release became a break out cross over film for both English and Spanish audiences. The film made history by being the first full length feature shot on location in Havana, Cuba by American filmmakers.  Luis has been on ABC, NBC, CBS, The Associate Press, and many other publications.

 

The buddy comedy VENUS & VEGAS highlights an all-star ensemble cast starring Eddie K. Thomas, Donald Faison, Eddie Guerra, Jamie Pressly, Roselyn Sanchez, Molly Sims, Florence Henderson, Abraham Benrubi, Jon Polito, Paul Ben-Victor, Jackie Martling, Steven Bauer and Joe Rogan.  This comedy set in Las Vegas, follows three buddy thieves (Faison, Thomas, Guerra) and their dysfunctional personal relationships with their girl friends, (Simms, Pressly, Sanchez).

Luis can be seen in various films, including The Siege, King of the Ants and his debut starring role in Love & Suicide.  Luis can also be seen performing his original stand-up comedy at various comedy clubs.  

Luis started his comedy acting career in 3rd grade playing “George Washington” in the stage play version of the TV show: “To Tell the Truth.”  He’s a graduate of Rutgers University, were he studied acting at Mason Gross School of The Arts. 

He began his writing and producing career by creating, writing and hosting the first ever Latin-American real estate and travel television show "Real Estate America" which aired on the Spanish language television network Univision.  As a writer, Luis has also penned several scripts. BORN BLACK, GUILTY FOR LIFE; The True story of Mims Hackett: An African American man framed for attempted murder and kidnapping, convicted and sent to prison for thirty years; because he ran for political office.


Luis ability to speak fluent Spanish, adds to his market reach. On occasion, he leads training courses for New York Youth at Risk. He also lead training courses for Youth at Risk Kids in Crenshaw, CA. He’s an all around athlete, winning many awards, trophies and medals; including a NCAA Division One national award for football as a strong safety for Rutgers University.  He grew up between Washington Heights, NY and Union City, NJ where he attended Union Hill H.S.

His biggest accomplishment is raising five kids with his wife Bobbi.
