Synopsis: Roy Clemens (Steve Harris) returns to his rural hometown of Haralson, Georgia (population 83) and inherits the family store and a mess of skeletons in the closet.

He discovers a blind man, Sammy (Phillip Bloch), an old acquaintance who has been locked-up as a "shut-in" by his older brother Harold (Gale Harold) for 20 years.

Sammy and Roy form a bond around a desire to leave Harralson for the city lights of Atlanta, but to get there they must both come to terms with Harold and the childhood secrets the three of them hide.

How did this film become an instant cult classic?

I have to give the credit to the diverse ensemble cast. I would love to work with all of them again. I know this film will end up having the most A-List actors before they became A-list in a few years. All the actors played characters that where totally oppisate from what their fans and audiences expect of them from. It's priceless and refreshing see great actors do great work.

There's so many with out given the story away. Gale Harold (Queer as Folk) plays a tough red neck. Steve Harris (Minority Report) plays a shy teacher. Phillip Bloch debutes as a blind shut-in and delivers an award winning performance. Catherine Dent (The Shield) play a sexy southern vixen. Judah Freidlander (30 Rock, comic) plays a deep south lost mind. Shirely Caesar (Gospal Legend) plays a southern restaurant owner. Michelle Clunie (Usual Suspects) plays a southern loof. Daisy McCrackin (3000 Miles to Graceland) plays a hometown girl. Everyone performed oppisate what they are know for. They made the film great and gave their fans what they wanted. Them acting.

What is a blind shut in?

Some people who are care takers of the blind will keep the blind person "shut-in." Though we made a film that includes the topic, I am not in anyway an authority. Now the work that Phillip Bloch did in researching and preparing for the roll might make him one. Many blind people are literally trapped in their homes. They are not let out for many reasons and some for years at a time. Maybe more. We would never know because they are trapped in thier homes. The Unseen deals with a shut-in named Sammy (Phillip Bloch) is freed by his child hood friend Roy (Steve Harris). This sets off a series of events and reveals hidden secrets that starts to tear the town apart starting with Harold (Gale Harold). I think one of the reason audiences love this movie is because the performances are so real, you reall start to get that you can have a shut-in living on your block, building, even house and never know it.
